Service Description

This beginners course is designed to teach the basics of wheel throwing. Wheel throwing techniques like wedging, coning, opening, centering, pulling and trimming will be given importance. Cylinder is the most important form in pottery. Perfectly thrown cylinder will help one make anything on the wheel. Hence major importance will be given to pulling even cylinders in this course. You will also gain information about types of clay, ceramics, production pottery, etc. This course will help you make basic forms on wheel independently. The Course will have a total of 13 sessions divided into 6 weeks out of which 10 sessions will be instructor led- 3 hrs. per session 2 sessions will be open studio/ practice session (3 hrs. taken during 4 weeks of course duration) 1 Glaze application session 3 Compensatory classes will be allowed in case you miss a few. We have 1 weekend (Saturday & Sunday) and 2 weekday courses (Tuesday-Wednesday & Thursday- Friday). This Course will end with a Glaze application class which will be discussed with all the participants of weekend and weekday course and arranged on a single day. The course fees includes : 12 Kg clay, Basic pottery tool kit and 6 to 10 finished products which participants make. Any material exceeding this will be charged accordingly.
